Counseling Works!

Does counseling work?

Yes.  The research clearly supports that people who go to counseling have better outcomes (less depression, anxiety, etc) than those who do not seek help.

How do I pick a therapist to see?

All our clinicians are experienced and skilled in helping with many problems.  What’s very important is that you “click” with your therapist.  Read the therapist profiles and a phone, email or in person consultation about your issues is always welcomed and encouraged!

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we are on many insurance panels and we do submit your claims to your insurance company.  It’s best to find out what your insurance benefits are before your first appointment.  You can contact your insurance company or we can help you with getting that information.  Our billing specialist is Dorothy Lehman, phone 262.388.9425, fax 888.794.4595 or email dorothy@kettlemorainecounseling.com.  Co-pays are due at time of service and can be given to your therapist.

What should I do in an emergency?

Depending on the nature of the emergency, you may go to the nearest ER, call the local crisis line 262.365.6565 or call the clinic office for emergency contact information.

How long will I be in therapy?

When you meet with your therapist, goals will be developed (with your input) and a schedule with frequency of sessions will be determined at that time.  Everyone is unique with different needs- always bring up to your therapist concerns/questions about how your therapy is progressing.

Will anyone find out I am in therapy?

The answer is no, unless you decide to tell people.  If you use your insurance, there is some information that gets released to your insurance company such as diagnosis, dates of sessions.
