Yoga Therapy at Kettle Moraine Counseling increases well-being and health, body awareness, emotional regulation, confidence, response to stress, and healthy connection to oneself and others. Sessions aim to reduce physical discomfort, emotional stress and strain, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, ADHD, and more.
Therapeutic Yoga focuses on the whole person, including the physical body, the breath, the mind, the heart, and each person’s connections to themselves and others around them. Not only do you feel physically better as a result- but you give yourself the precious gift of self-care and self-love.
According to the National Institutes of Health, scientific evidence shows that yoga supports stress management, mental health, mindfulness, healthy eating, weight loss and quality sleep. The Journal of Clinical Psychology indicates that those participating in integrated counseling and yoga programs experience a 24% reduction in symptoms related to anxiety and depression.
Yoga Therapy sessions offer a comfortable and gentle approach to learning and practicing mind body tools to support mental health in your everyday life. You will gain insight into the mind-body connection, regulate emotions, manage challenges, and better understand yourself.
In sessions you will learn:
Through movement, breathing practices, meditation, and inner work, each session offers practical self-care and mental health tools that you take off of your mat and into your daily life. You will learn accessible and actionable coping skills that can be utilized immediately.
Yoga is fun and playful for children, and increases emotional regulation, emotional skill identification, and coping skill development.
No yoga experience is necessary, and all ages and stages and abilities are welcome. Sessions can be completed in a chair if desired. Sessions prioritize inner work and self-compassion and acceptance.
