Holly transitioned to Kettle Moraine Counseling after spending 25 years working in urban education with youth and adolescents as a special education teacher and for over 10 teaching adults as an adjunct faculty at Ottawa University.

Holly has extensive experience working with youth and young adults who have experienced multiple traumas, addiction, abuse and neglect, family issues, and school adjustment. Additionally, Holly has experience working with the LGBTQ+ community and with youth who have been in the foster-care and/or in the juvenile justice system.

Holly believes that building a trusting and open therapeutic relationship can assist her clients in exploring and resolving personal, family and other relational issues. Holly uses empathic listening in a non-judgmental, calm and safe environment. Holly focuses on client strengths to improve self-esteem and build a foundation for continued personal growth.

Holly’s treatment approaches vary based upon individual needs and may include: Client-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Holly is completing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Trauma Informed Care Certificate at UW-Milwaukee. In addition to her teaching licenses, Holly possesses a Substance Abuse Counseling in Training license (SAC-IT) and a master’s degree in Communication from UW-Milwaukee.
