About Layne
My work is grounded in somatic therapy—a trauma-informed, mind–body approach that helps you regulate your nervous system, soften chronic activation, and reconnect with a sense of clarity, capacity, and inner steadiness. Working together, we may use breathwork, body awareness, gentle movement, mindfulness, counseling, and Brainspotting to help access what talking alone may not fully reach.
I bring compassion, presence, and deep respect for each person’s story. With over 20 years experience, I have learned that Somatic therapy can be especially supportive for those experiencing anxiety, depression, overwhelm, trauma/PTSD, chronic tension, burnout, ADHD, and emotional dysregulation. This work is about helping your body gently unwind what it has been holding so you can feel more calm, present, and connected to yourself and the people you love.
I facilitate the weekly online Somatic Skills Group at Kettle Moraine Counseling—a gentle, accessible space where people learn practical tools they can use in real time to manage stress, regulate emotions, and build resilience. No yoga or movement experience is required; all practices can be done seated in a chair or on a mat.
Group sessions may include:
· Somatic skill development + nervous system education
· Breathwork and grounding techniques
· Gentle mindful movement (chair or mat options)
· Mindfulness and meditation
· Visualization, intentions, and affirmations
· Coping tools for everyday life
My approach is gentle, collaborative, and deeply human. I believe in helping people reconnect with their bodies and inner wisdom, creating space for presence, ease, and meaningful change.
